Who are you Friends with?

Who are your friends? James 4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Interesting scripture isn't it? So we see that there is a choice that needs to be made when it comes to not only those we call friends but also deciding if we truly are friends of God.

Birds of a feather flock together is what the older people use to say about a group of people who hung together and were friends. More often than not we have a lot of things in common with the people we call our friends. What do you and your friends have in common? If it isn't Jesus than you may have a problem because God said that you can't be His friend and the world's friend too.

Do you think that God is asking you for too much? Well the next time that you think that God is asking for too much from you in that respect, see what your friends think about going to church or discussing the things that God is putting on your heart and see who wants to still hang out and be your friend. Truth be told, friends have expectations of us and when we don't fulfill those expectations we are no longer a friend. I hope that you understand a little bit better today that God wants to be your friend and guess what? When you are God's friend you can't help but be all that you need to be because birds of a feather flock together. That's why God wants you to choose friends that He is friends with, like Jesus. Amen.
